The 7 photos that protect your case
Job sites get cleaned up and fixed fast, sometimes the same day. These pictures show what really happened before it disappears.
Only if it is safe. If you're hurt, don't go back to the site. A coworker or family member can take these. Don't argue with anyone, and don't sign anything there.
Where you fell from
The whole ladder, scaffold, roof edge or opening. Step back so the full height shows.
What was missing or broken
No guardrail, a gap in the planks, ladder feet with no rubber, no place to tie off a harness.
Where you landed
The ground or floor, and anything that fell with you.
Your injuries
Today, and again every few days as bruises and swelling change.
The contractor's sign
The site sign or fence wrap with the company's name and phone number.
The building permit
The permit posted at the entrance or on the fence. It shows the job number and who pulled it.
Proof of who you worked for
Texts from the foreman, a pay envelope, a check stub, your sign-in sheet or a site badge.
Your photos stay on your phone until you choose to send them. Also write down the names and phone numbers of coworkers who saw what happened.
